Just like Dragon's Dogma 1, on it's own, you're gonna get a 7/10 game, at best. Dark Arisen expansion turned it to a 9/10. The base game got all the foundations needed for a fun experience, zero handholding open world exploration with super fun and reactive combat system. Without the expansion, though, enemy variety is very lacking. You'll keep fighting those goblins and wolves over and over again. With the new expansion + updates, the game is so much bigger and better. Performance is also better, I'm playing at 50-60fps 1440p widescreen with no upscaling on my setup. Monster variety is much better now, no longer you will fight goblins over and over again. Exploration is also expanded with the new map and the new dungeon additions to the base game. Also related to the above, loot also got expanded and is satisfying to grind. Pawns got smarter. PAWNS GOT SMARTER. On one occasion I was unprepared (I'd forgotten to bring my camping kit and supplies) and almost got decimated by a group of bandits. One of my rented pawns (a warrior) literally ran to the ledge and taunted them, distracting them from finishing me off. The bandits went after her, and my other pawn (a rogue) followed suit and just sent them down the cliff one by one, while my main pawn quickly rushed over to heal me. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, it was almost like I was playing co-op.

Tried to play the game with the DLC installed and it's been a mess. Impossible to start due to "An unhandled exception ocurred". Tried multiple reinstall, verify game files, etc. to no avail. Knowing capcom they'll probably wait months until this is properly fixed
