470 hours, every achievement, Honour Mode included, and I'm still not convinced I've seen everything. Baldur's Gate 3 is the most reactive game I've ever played. Almost every problem has four solutions, and whatever weird fifth idea you try, the game usually saw it coming. Talk your way out, sneak past, shove them off a ledge, or skip the fight entirely. Your choices stick, and people remember them. The writing and voice acting carry it. Astarion, Karlach, Shadowheart and Lae'zel are some of the best companions in any RPG, and Dark Urge is worth playing at least once because it's the strongest version of the story. My Durge run was a Lolth-sworn drow necromancer (Death Cleric / Necromancy Wizard / Spores Druid) with a small undead army in tow, and the game rolled with all of it. Combat is 5e done right. Height, surfaces and positioning all matter, and multiclassing goes deep enough that I was still theorycrafting builds hundreds of hours in. The Patch 8 subclasses only made that worse, in the best way. Honour Mode is the final exam. One save, no reloads, and bosses with legendary actions that punish lazy play. It forces you to actually learn the systems instead of save-scumming past them, and every dialogue roll gets tense when you can't undo it. Those golden dice were earned. It's not perfect. Act 3 is massive but can still chug in the Lower City, inventory management is a chore, and a few companion arcs and quest threads wrap up more abruptly than the rest of the game deserves. None of that comes close to outweighing what Larian pulled off. This is the new bar for RPGs. See you in hour 471.

I have to admit, and I do not say this lightly, this game is an absolute masterpiece. In my nearly 20 years of gaming I have never EVER seen anything come remotely close to this in terms of pure love, effort and dedication. The amount of content you get for your money is absolutely mind blowing with very well over 150 hours required if you want to properly experience just one playthrough, and that's not accounting for the unbelievable replayability. Even the smallest, seemingly insignificant side quests have story relevance and multiple ways to go about completing them, everything is made with such painstaking attention to detail and a dynamic world in mind. The writing is utterly phenomenal, the characters believable, the voice actors just amazing and all this with people new to the world of D&D taken into consideration. Everything important is explained and shown to you in the world, with smaller tidbits of lore scattered in books around the environment, painting a complete picture of Faerun. And if that wasn't enough, the combat ties a perfect little bow on the whole thing, it's fun, it's challenging but fair, and rewards you thoroughly for using the environment and making smart choices, giving a true tactical sandbox experience. Overall, I have nothing but love for this game and I genuinely can not think of any way to improve it except to make that sequel. Thank you, Larian Studios, for the unforgettable experience!

Fantastic game throughout, all up until the final boss sequence. Not because it's hard, but because it's so unbelievably tedious. The WORST final boss sequence I have ever played. Please, for the love of everything, NEVER make an ending sequence so unbearably boring and long.
