Can’t say much about the game so far, but here’s some low-hanging fruit: go to Launch Options and add -dx12, like you would with any UE4 game running on DX11. Got me around +30% FPS for free. Thumbs up so the fellas can find this later. Cheers.
This is a painful review for me to leave. Everything about the visuals and music is fantastic. While it's influence is very clear, this game does a great job of establishing it's own unique atmosphere and identity. It's just absolutely delightful to move through the game world and take in the sights and sounds. But the combat is so tedious it sucks all of the enjoyment I could have out of the experience. The enemy density is absurd in a lot of areas, and the behavior of the enemies is way too aggressive as well. Almost all of them (with rare exceptions) will just move towards you in a straight line, and attack you as often as their animations will allow. When there are several enemies present (and there usually are) the problems are compounded to the point of being completely intolerable. If the melee enemies had more behavior (circling the player a little bit in between attacks for instance) that would probably go a really long way towards alleviating the frustration. tl;dr - incredible atmosphere horrible enemy design
