Its difficult, it takes patience and it can be a bit harsh at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes incredibly addictive, I would particularly recommend it to anyone who likes survival games that dont hold your hand

This is absolutely a game for a lot of people. Much of what it brings is right up my alley too. Crafting, unique enemy design, base management, a necessary delve into a wiki to grasp stuff. The difficulty is quite a bit of the fun here for a lot of people, and on some degree I can get behind that. The structure makes it easy to last a few days before harder stuff comes around, which is smart design. But that ramp is also the biggest reason I tried so hard to like this game and then fell RIGHT off a cliff of fun. Getting to a fun challenge might take 10 days of mundane tasks and setup. If you then die immediately, or realize you mismanaged your plan 3 days ago and are unprepared now, that can be literal hours of time wasted. If you DO succeed, it could be quite some time before the next fun thing happens. Grappling with the systems and building your little factory is the point of the game. I get that it really works for a lot of people. But if that isn't a great goal for you, or if you find those early hours of a run mundane, it might be a long, LONG time before the game finally shows you something fun. I tried for a long time, I wish I had figured out I wasn't going to get to the fun part before my patience ran out.
