Diablo 4 — A Beautiful Game That Left Me Expecting More I really enjoyed a lot of what Diablo 4 does. The story cinematics are excellent, the voice acting and dialogue are well done, and the audio design and graphics create an amazing dark atmosphere. The world genuinely feels like Diablo. But despite all of that, I expected more from the progression system. You level up so quickly that progression can start to feel almost meaningless. Before I have enough time to really appreciate a build or struggle with an encounter, I'm already significantly stronger. Because of this, many enemies and even bosses feel too easy, taking away some of the excitement and sense of accomplishment. The loot system also left me wanting more. Items drop so frequently that they don't feel particularly rewarding anymore. Finding a powerful or rare item should feel exciting—something you look forward to. Instead, the constant stream of equipment can make most drops feel disposable. That's what disappointed me the most. The presentation makes Diablo 4 feel like an incredible epic adventure, but the progression doesn't always give that same sense of accomplishment. The graphics, cinematics, voice acting, audio, and atmosphere are fantastic, but I expected the gameplay progression and loot system to deliver the same level of quality. Beautiful game, great presentation, but the progression left me expecting more.

This is my first Diablo-style ARPG. I played the current season with all the expansions, and after around 76 hours, including some time in the endgame, I think your experience really depends on what you're looking for. I played with a group, and honestly, I probably wouldn't have picked it up without people to play with. Unfortunately, some major content, classes, and features are tied to a paid expansion, so I ended up buying it to get the full experience. If you're mainly here for the story: I went in knowing almost nothing about Diablo's lore or previous games. I could still follow and enjoy the story, but some characters and events would've meant more with prior knowledge of the series. The campaign is pretty easy, even after increasing the difficulty. The world itself has plenty of variety in its environments and enemies, with each region having its own atmosphere and culture. There are also some good side quests that help flesh out the world. If you're here for the endgame: Combat feels satisfying throughout the game, and you can really feel the impact and weight of your abilities. The endgame is where the game got much better for me, with higher difficulties making your build matter more and plenty of variety in classes, skills, and activities. My favorite part was hunting for the right gear, changing its stats, and slowly putting my build together. The grind is repetitive, but I usually had a clear goal behind it, and I enjoyed the RNG of chasing specific drops. The endgame also gives you harder content to test your build and keep improving it. The downside is that once I got most of the gear I wanted and my build was nearly finished, my motivation started to drop. There's still more I could do, but none of it gives me enough reason to keep playing. At this point, I'd mostly hop on to help someone in my group, or come back for a new season and start fresh with another class or build. If you enjoy chasing loot, building and min-maxing a character, and don't mind repetition as long as there's a goal behind it, you'll probably find things to enjoy here. I enjoyed the story, but I wouldn't play it for the campaign alone.

I bought the game on sale and still feel like I wasted my money and regret buying Diablo IV. I really wanted to enjoy this game but after playing it I just don't feel like it was worth the money even at a discounted price. I don't have much hope for Diablo V either. I just hope Blizzard listens to the players, fixes the problems , and learns from its mistakes. I still like the Diablo series, and that's why I hope the next game can be a much better experience. For now I can't say that I enjoyed Diablo 4 enough to recommend it.
