This is possibly the best golf game I've played & I've played them all. Right back to the early 90s with "The Walrus" at Pebble Beach on my Sega Mega Drive to The Links series. This one I actually didn't like when I got the Demo here in Steam a year ago, only because I wasn't used to the circle gauge. I saw it on sale recently & thought why not give it another go. Now, I'm absolutely hooked on this one. It's beautifully rendered & the graphics are next level. The courses look spectacular & the commentary is a step up from 2K23 & so are the player animations. I'm having a blast with this one & I think it's awesome. Thoroughly recommend it.

So here is the deal. I love the presentation of this game. The visuals and the swing stick mechanics are great. I love that. But the fact you never own the game and it is built to intentionally break at some point in the future affects my enjoyment of the game even now. Why invest time in a game that 2K sports is going to kill in a couple years. If they would allow for private servers to be set up so we could continue career mode, well, at least that would be something. But as it is 2k is telling you, "You can pay for this game, but you will never own it. And we will take it away in the future so you are forced to buy our next game." At this point I am routing tor the entire AAA games industry to collapse. Let these suits that have taken over the industry eat dirt. 2K can't even provide real voice actors anymore. One of the announcers on the game talks in a cadence that sounds like the dog on the movie UP. It was funny in the movie. But in the game it is annoying as ♥♥♥♥. It has to be some AI generated crap. 2K!!! Do you not realize you could take this engine and make it the foundation of a lasting epic golf game. Selling course libraries yearly and making money that way? Expanding your customer base over time, rather that losing your base because you try to milk them dry. Stupid. Also... The game is way to easy. I hit nearly every shot unbelievably well. Playing out of the rough seems not to affect anything. The wind barely matters if at all. It feels very flat compared to the last game. You know... The game that you are killing. So to potential customers out there. Play the old game until it's dead. And then pick up a hobby like fishing or something. Do not buy this game. I messed up by buying it. But I just had to know. I spent hard earned money so you don't have too. And like I said. You are not even buying the game. Because they will take away the functionality of it in the future. So it's like renting instead of buying. It sucks. Down with 2k! and EA! And anyone else that has jumped into the sports yearly update model of games. I can't wait to see these people sleeping on the streets because of their own stupidity. Oh! And another thing. They can't even have smooth fast menus in these game. The interface in between rounds is sooooooooooo clunky and janky is suprememly annoying. I honestly don't know how they released it like that. I mean a web page interface is more responsive than the crap they put out. It looks ok. But I am constantly waiting for it to get into a state where I can make a selection. This should be smooth as butter. But its like someone learning to drive a stick shift for the first time. Man... where have all the real programmers gone?
