A phenomenal effort from a humble-sized team. You can tell this game was handcrafted in every detail with passion, care, consistent development and attentiveness to its community, and has clear plans for its future. We can expect free DLC updates, which is generous for a one-time purchase MMO at this price. And with the team not supporting genAI, everything they've made and will make is created by the team and their sheer talent. The Loftia soundtrack and foley soundscapes are amazing (they also have Lofi versions on youtube). Really looking forward to full release and especially the Study Cafe where I can lock in with friends.

What's here isn't bad, but I can't recommend it based on the planned monetization. Loftia is planning to have: - An initial buy price just to access it - Cosmetic microtransactions - Season passes It should be either buy to play with no additional monetization or free to play with microtransactions, not both. Additionally, cosmetic microtransactions in a game where the primary focus is self-expression is basically equivalent to p2w imo. Season passes are made to prey on FOMO, which I think isn't very desirable in a "cozy game".
